ELI Meeting in Rome (5-7 April 2017)

Prof. Uzelac participated in the meeting of European Law Institute's iniciative to draft European Rules of Civil Procedure. The meeting was held in Rome from 5 to 7 April 2017. Besides discussing the progress of the working groups (concentrating on issues such as provisional and protective measures, access to information and evidence, service of documents, obligation of parties and lawyers, res iudicata and lis pendens, costs etc.), the new working group on judgments was introduced.

Days of Scientific association for international civil procedure (Vienna 15-1 March 2017)

Prof. Uzelac participated in the Days of Scientific association for international civil procedure which were held in Vienna from 15 to 18 March 2017. The members of the Association discussed various issues in the field, with special emphasis on international insolvency law and methods in comparative civil procedure.

ELI Meeting in Vienna (21 - 22 November 2016)

The Principal Investigator, prof. dr. Alan Uzelac participated in the Joint Steering Committee meeting with Co-reporters, Members of the Working Groups, and Advisers and Observeres organised by the European Law Institute in Vienna from 21 to 22 November 2016. The purpose of the meeting was to make a report on current status of drafting common European Rules of Civil Procedure.

Recent developments in civil procedure law - national and comparative theoretical and practical accomplishments

Zagreb team members participated in second annual conference "Recent developments in civil procedure law - national and comparative theoretical and practical accomplishments" which was organised by Faculty of Law, Split from 21 to 22 October 2016. The conference was attended by leading scientists in the field, both from homeland and region, but also by local practitioners. During the conference, prof. dr. Uzelac, prof. Maganić, dr. Aras, Marko Bratković and Juraj Brozović held lectures regarding the topics which they also argued in their papers which were published on this occasion in conference book.

International Colloquium on Procedural Law and Reconciliation

Prof. dr. Alan Uzelac, Marko Bratković and Juraj Brozović participated in Colloquium on Reconciliation and Procedural Law in Bogota from 5 to 7 October 2016. The conference was organised by International Association of Procedural Law, Universidad Externado de Colombia and Instituto Colombiano de derecho procesal. The aim of the conference was to discuss the relation between reconciliation and civil and criminal procedural law, especially having in mind recent developments in Colombia.

During the conference, prof. dr. Uzelac gave lecture and report regarding the issue of settling non-state conflicts whilst guaranteeing due process of law and protecting disadvantaged groups of people, with special emphasis on litigation stemming from land dispossession and forced displacement.
